For my Random Ramblings series, this is my bookish edition post.
With the beginning of a new month, I’m thinking it’s time to start a new tradition.
Random ramblings of the month. This time it is dedicated to bookish ramblings.
The specific topic this month is unfinished reading lists.
Unfinished Reading Lists
Does every bookworm faces this problem, or am I part of a minority? Every month, this one being no exception, I make a ‘To Be Read’ list, with all intentions of getting to it.
But somewhere along the line, the list gets modified, or sometimes just completely disregarded.
Take October, for example.
My attempted TBR list was as follows:
- The Girl He Used To Know by Tracey Garvis Graves
- Liar Liar by M.J. Arlidge
- The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne
- The Late Bloomers’ Club by Louise Miller
- Where The Grass Is Green And The Girls Are Pretty by Lauren Weisberger
- The End Of Her by Shari Lapena
- The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor
- The Last Story Of Mina Lee by Nancy Jooyoun Kim
What I actually read:
- Where The Grass Is Green And The Girls Are Pretty by Lauren Weisberger
- The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor
- The Last Story Of Mina Lee by Nancy Jooyoun Kim
- White Ivy by Susie Yang
By the way, my October mini-books review will follow shortly.
Speaking for myself here, I know that my mood mostly dictates what I read. Often I see recommendations from bookstagrammers, for example, and my list goes out the window. There are always new books that come out that are very appealing, and the ones I already planned to read take a back seat.
I sometimes wish I can be more committed to my initial list, but let’s face it, it’s not really going to happen any time soon. Reading for me is a hobby, a pleasurable experience. I don’t really need the extra pressure, life is stressful enough as it is.
Concluding Words
This concluded my Random Ramblings – bookish edition post.
So, what will I accomplish today? Other than rambling on about a problem readers everywhere surely experience, at least from time to time. Most likely nothing, but I still felt like I wanted to address this issue, lame as it may seem.
So friends, if you’re looking forward to more similar ramblings about nothing important, I’m your girl.
Hope to see you soon! In the meantime check out my latest post, in case you need inspiration for your Christmas shopping.
