8 A-Frame Cabins in Quebec

These are 8 A-frame cabins in Quebec to consider for your next getaway.

With spring finally making its long-awaited appearance, we are slowly coming out of our hibernation period. Days are getting longer, the temperatures are rising, and we want to experience life again. Spring is a great time to get back in touch with nature, and Canada has a lot of beautiful places to visit.

I thought this spring I would plan a getaway at an A-Frame cabin that doesn’t require crossing the border at the moment. Personally, I think it is a great idea, especially since it seems that cross-boarding rules change on a weekly basis.

Quebec has the Laurentides, an area North of Montreal where in winter you can go skiing. For the rest of the year, you can go walking on their numerous trails, and go chill by their multiple lakes. There are plenty of outdoor activities you can partake in this beautiful province.

Lots of beautiful A-Frame Airbnbs and cabins, or as we call them here, chalets, have popped up in the last couple of years.

What’s great about those A-Farmed cabins is that they offer you some privacy. I picked most of them with a location that is not too remote. So you can enjoy all that nature has to offer, while still being close enough to the city. A great combination, as far as I’m concerned.

Let’s take a look at 8 of the best A-frame cabins in Quebec. Start planning your next getaway at any of these gorgeous cabins, you’ll be grateful you did.

The beauty of Quebec is that it has many different spots just like this one, but it’s actually closer to Ottawa than Montreal. Just about 15 minutes from Ottawa, the views of the Gatineau River from this tiny cabin are spectacular. A cozy little cabin for year-round. In winter it’s actually even nicer because of all the winter sports you can indulge in. Go skating on the Rideau Canal which is located close by, it’s really worth it. In the warmer months, you can go swimming or canoe on the river.

This cabin is located in the area of Saint Casimir and offers you a simple and quiet place where you can get away for a couple of days.

We’re almost in May now, but for future reference, this cabin is great to keep in mind for sugaring off-season in Quebec. For those not familiar with one of Quebec’s proudest traditions, sugaring off has been compared to a rite of passage in Montreal.

From late February till early May of each year, the maple syrup from the trees is collected. The maple farmers welcome visitors to their sugar shacks to enjoy their crops. That consists of eggs, baked beans, and ham, all slathered in maple syrup. A true delight that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

Located in La Conception, Quebec, Hinyterhouse is about a two-hour drive from Montreal, give or take. Hosted by Emily, a super host according to the Airbnb ratings, this one-of-a-kind architectural piece is designed in Scandinavian style. Minimalist and built with nature in mind, it is surrounded by amazing views all around. It is partnered with One Tree Planted. That means that with every single booking the organization plants ten trees. With many sleek modern trimmings and many large floor-to-ceiling windows all around, you can take advantage of all the peace this place brings you. You can also enjoy some perks that are included with your booking, such as discounts at nearby spas. All in all, one of the best places to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily grind.

Concluding Words

huard val des monts

Those are just a few of the most popular and accessible getaway cabins you can book right here in Quebec. If you haven’t been to La Belle Province yet, don’t let the French language keep you away. It is a truly beautiful place to live in, and the people are friendly and nice. At least, most of the time!

I hope you enjoyed my derailing from talking about books. I do like to do other things other than reading, and traveling is just one of them. Personally, I haven’t had the pleasure of staying at any of these places yet.  But I’m really hoping to though, at least at some point in the near future!
